So basically, should I try any other Julia Quinn books? Did I pick one of her worst books for a first one? Any other recommendations are welcomed. All of the books that I've liked have nice guys (no playboys, rogues, rakes, or arrogant jerks), low relationship angst, mature communicating adults, low steam (closed door is fine), HEA, and weren't depressing. Very enjoyable book - I would absolutely read this again and loved the spunky personality of Emma. I also read The Work of Art by her and while it wasn't my favorite, I still liked it more than Just Like Heaven. It wasn't surprising they cared for each other, I could see it growing. Closed door that still had steamy kissing scenes. Mature interesting characters that communicate like adults. I've read the Devon Parish Orphans series by Mimi Matthews and I loved it. Should I try her other books? Did I just pick a bad one to start with? I'm pretty picky in what I like so maybe none of her other books will fit anyways.

The heroine also felt more like a teenager than an adult. The middle part was decent, the momentum was lost for angst sake, and then the conclusion felt rushed and unsatisfying. I found the first 4 chapters to be painfully boring. I read Just like Heaven and it was ok, but I definitely did a lot of skimming to get through boring dialogue. I'm new to historical romance and I'm trying to figure out if I should give Julia Quinn another try.
